i3 Membrane

i3 Membrane is a companion for filtration solutions and separation technologies in life science. With and for the customers, high-quality products in the fields of medical, lab / pharma and biotech are developed. By combining ion and membrane technology and with the help of plasma immersion ion implantation, the first digitally controllable membrane was developed for the i3 as early as 2013 and traditional separation technology was revolutionized.

The membranes equipped with functionalized surfaces enable more efficient and sustainable separation processes and reduce fouling. The digitally switchable adsorption and desorption of various media with simultaneous filtration opens up new possibilities for using membranes in all areas of life sciences. Coated polymer membranes are used for both individual and standardized solutions in healthcare, laboratory technology and pharmaceuticals as well as in research. The range of applications extends from Analytics through Infection prevention to Biotechnology.

Today i3 Membrane is one of the most innovative separation technology companies. Production takes place at the headquarters in Radeberg near Dresden. The young company is characterized by its branches in Germany and Austria and an international sales network.

New Filter Technology – Uses Inert Gas to Bore Holes in High-Quality Steel
Two early-stage venture capital investors are joining the i3 Membrane GmbH startup in August 2014. High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) of Bonn and Innovationsstarter Fonds of Hamburg are investing in development and marketing of a novel filter technology. The new high-tech membrane is made of high-quality steel and is more stable and more flexible than conventional filters, also more environmentally-compatible because only inert gas and electrical power are needed for its manufacture. The process was
