eBlocker successfully concludes additional financing round with HTGF investment

January 17, 2018

Hamburg-based start-up eBlocker has secured a seven-figure sum in additional capital. Following the investments of Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg II and other renowned private investors, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has provided eBlocker with a further investment boost. In addition, eBlocker founder Christian Bennefeld will be taking part in the High-Tech Partnering Conference (HTPC18) on 30 January. At the conference, the Hamburg-born data protection expert will be sharing his expertise on the subject of internet tracking and online privacy as part of a high-quality panel of experts. eBlocker, which was developed by Bennefeld and his team, is a user-friendly, multi-user solution which protects user data on all terminal devices. The eBlocker Base, eBlocker Pro and eBlocker Family products help users regain control of data that may otherwise be unintentionally disclosed while surfing the internet.

“I can hardly express in words just how delighted I am that investors have shown such great interest in online data protection. This enables us to improve our products even further and provide users with the best-possible solution to surf anonymously and securely on all devices,” says Christian Bennefeld, CEO of eBlocker GmbH.

Gregor Haidl from HTGF says: “With eBlocker, all Internet-enabled devices such as smartphones, tablets, smart TVs in a network can be extensively and effectively protected without the need for time-consuming software installation, and even by IT liaisons. This unique technological approach has convinced us as an investor and is confirmed by the market success of eBlocker.”

Development of new eBlocker products

eBlocker aims to use the fresh capital to extend its product family even further. By the end of last year, the Hamburg-based company has already launched the eBlocker Base on the market, a cost-effective product that protects against data espionage by internet providers. eBlocker Pro effectively blocks online advertising that collects user data, and offers protection against browser-based attacks. In addition to the functions shared with eBlocker Pro, eBlocker Family enables users to select individual filter settings for each member of the household, offering protection against content considered unsuitable for children. eBlocker plans to launch the new eBlocker Enterprise solution mid 2018 to protect public authorities, research institutions and businesses similarly.

About eBlocker GmbH
After two years of development in secret, eBlocker, headquarted in Hamburg, Germany, was launched in 2015. Their products, eBlocker Pro and eBlocker Family, empower users to regain control of their privacy and personal information while surfing the Internet and have full control over their data once again. The eBlocker Family, in addition, provides protection for not only individual users, but also children within the household. The devices work by using a specially developed security-software that confirms that all tracking- and ad-networks are blocked effectively and with full freedom of choice from all Internet devices. Thanks to easy installation, automatic configuration and software-updates, the eBlocker can be simply put to use even by technically inexperienced users. https://www.eBlocker.com/
