ezeep offers mobile printing for businesses and partners with Skype investor Mangrove and The Cloud

November 27, 2012

Berlin software startup ezeep has an ambitious goal: make printing easy, no matter where you are or what device you are using. The Skype investor Mangrove backs the company, and The Cloud, Europe’s biggest Wi-Fi provider, is one of ezeep’s first customers.

ezeep offers an easy and secure way to print in modern businesses. Employees can use the service to print when they are at the office or while they are on the go, either from their smartphone or tablet (both iOS and Android), or directly from the browser. The setup is easy and done within just a few minutes: existing printers will be connected automatically to ezeep. After that, they can easily be shared with team members or clients with just one click.

„With ezeep, we see the potential to solve one of technologies biggest issues“, says Michael Jackson, former COO of Skype, now partner at Mangrove Capital Partners. „Actually, it seems like a bad joke, that modern companies still have to spend a considerable part of their resources to maintain a working printer network. While working at Skype, I have seen how a small technological idea can become an avalanche. Today, none of us could imagine an internet without voice over IP or video chats.“

Sascha Kellert, CEO at ezeep, is also more than pleased with the new partner. „For us, it was always important to find an investor who not only has the money, but also has the experience to scale such a service successfully to a worldwide audience.“ According to Kellert, the investment will be used primarily to hire new people and to further develop the service. „We are just at the beginning of our journey. We have a lot of things to come, and the partnership with Mangrove helps us take a huge step towards our big goal.“

One of the first customers of the young company is The Cloud, Europe’s biggest Wi-Fi provider. Deutsche Telekom Accelerator Program hub:raum is also using their first ezeep printer.

Curtis MacDonald, investment manager at High-Tech Gründerfonds, comments: „ezeep has more than satisfied our expectations as a first round investor. With their innovative cloud-based software, users can print wirelessly from any device with maximum security. The product is absolutely relevant for the market and we are happy to see Mangrove, another strong partner, joining the ezeep family.“

About ezeep
ezeep is a young, Berlin-based software startup with a big vision: printing should just work, no matter where you are, or what device you are using. Since the founding in July 2011, the team, built up by the three founders Sascha Kellert (CEO), Frederic Haitz (COO) and Marian Zange (CTO), has been working on realizing that vision. With their innovative idea, they already found strong partners: Mangrove Capital Partners, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), and Danish serial entrepreneur Thomas Madsen-Mygdal.
