Fresh Capital for famPlus GmbH

July 12, 2011

famPlus GmbH has successfully completed a first round of financing. High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Bayern Kapital and a ‘business angel’ consortium will be supporting the family services company in future. Prior market success convinced investors. The fresh infusion of capital is intended to accelerate growth and product development in the coming months.

“We are very happy to now have experienced investors and experts on board,” says Dr. Markus Solf, Managing Director and founder of famPlus. “This money puts us in a position to quickly advance technical development and expand nationwide.”

famPlus offers employers the first quality-tested online platform for family support services. famPlus currently acts as a broker for child care, i.e. child minders, nannies and babysitters, with senior nursing care to follow. Providers are selected on the basis of standardised quality factors, checked and transparently presented on the online platform. Employers provide the famPlus service to their staff. They can then choose the right solution for their specific need on their own.

“We see great potential for innovation in the famPlus solution,” explains Christine Schmidl, HTGF Investment Manager. “famPlus distinguishes itself very strongly from alternative suppliers on the market by its technologically supported approach. Thus, the famPlus service can, on the one hand, be adapted to the needs of individual companies and be directly integrated into the IT structure and, on the other hand, parents have access at all times and are provided with additional benefits via innovative user-friendly features.” Wolfgang Dengler, Investment Manager at Bayern Kapital, adds: “Apart from the business model, we were convinced by its past success and, of course, the founding team. We look forward to a successful, partnership-based cooperation.” From their own business experience the participating ‘business angels’ (former board members and managing directors of industrial companies) are aware of the growing need for services such as those provided by famPlus.

famPlus GmbH
famPlus provides companies a transparent and efficient component for a family-aware personnel policy: the first quality-tested and tailor-made online platform for family support services, initially offering child care, i.e. child minders, nannies and babysitters. For the second stage, famPlus is already planning a comparable service for nursing care and household-related services. It’s innovative is the modularisation and partial automation of each type of service according to output-based quality criteria.

famPlus was founded by Julia Gänzler and Dr. Markus Solf in summer 2010. After the successful pilot project in 2010, conducted in cooperation with, among others, Robert Bosch GmbH, Daimler AG, DEKRA, GP Grenzach (Bayer Healthcare), SWR and Wüstenrot & Württembergische, additional customers were persuaded this year. Employees of Bayerische Landesbank, LBS and the employing entity of Diözese Rottenburg-Stuttgart can now make use of the famPlus service. Companies from Bavaria, Baden-Württemburg and Hessen are currently using the innovative service, which will be available nationwide by the end of the year.
