Gründerszene Honours High-Tech Gründerfonds

September 20, 2011

Gründerszene, the online magazine, has awarded Bonn-based early phase investor High-Tech Gründerfonds the “Investor of the Decade” jury prize for the internet industry. The prestigious, 31-member selection committee consisted of journalists, successful founders and investors. The internet start-ups and founders of the 2000 to 2010 decade were also selected by the jury and the audience.

The distinction was awarded to both managing directors of the €272 m investment fund, Dr. Michael Brandkamp and Dr. Alexander von Frankenberg, as part of an event with selected market partners. “We feel very honoured! The award is extra motivation for us to continue to make the most of all of the opportunities available to us in the future, in order for us to finance promising high-tech business ideas at a very early phase and carry them to success along with our partners”, assured Brandkamp.

A total of 100 nominations from the internet industry made it to the final round of the founder’s prize. Besides High-Tech Gründerfonds, winners included games developer Bigpoint (Oldtimer, Jury Prize), website building provider Jimdo (Oldtimer, Audience Prize), games developer Wooga (Newcomer, Jury Prize), internet music TV site Tape.tv (Newcomer, Audience Prize), Oliver Samwer (Founder, Jury Prize), Michael Urban (Founder, Audience Prize) as well as DuMont Venture (Investor, Audience Prize).
