High-Tech Gruenderfonds announces profitable exit of portfolio company SOPAT

August 6, 2014

SOPAT GmbH was founded in 2012 by Dr. Sebastian Maass, Juergen Rojahn and Joern Emmerich and offers the first fully automated, precise, in situ real-time analysis of particles in chemical processes. Since its foundation in Berlin, SOPAT has achieved strong growth in sales and could win well-known industrial clients.

In 2013 High-Tech Gruenderfonds financed the company together with Steelhouse Ventures and supported the team set up their business. Due to the positive development of the company the management completed a financing round to expand their activities. The company could win a private industrial holding, Dr. Max Iann Invest GmbH, with a large industrial network and experience in SOPAT’s business. In this transaction High-Tech Gruenderfonds now sold its SOPAT shares.

Ron Winkler, investment manager at High-Tech Gruenderfonds in charge of SOPAT, explains: “With the financing round SOPAT management will be able to push SOPAT’s growth and has a new, strong partner by its side. We are delighted to have been one of the investors and we wish them every success in the future. At the same time we are very pleased that with this exit we could profitably sell our shares in SOPAT.. The company and the market have demonstrated that SOPAT’s products offer customers an undisputed added value.”
