High-Tech Gründerfonds and Bayern Kapital to invest in iso-fast GmbH

November 25, 2008

Efficient and practical system to insulate buildings. Iso-fast GmbH, a company organized in August 2008, has developed a new system to insulate residential buildings which considerably helps saving energy and thus counteracts the continuously growing costs of heating.

The system can be assembled twice as quickly as previously available systems and additionally allows for significantly thicker insulations. Buildings insulated using this system can reach the standard for passive houses and consequently are no longer in need of a heating system. Another benefit is that the new system not only allows to insulate walls but also roofs. Furthermore occupants can stay in the building while renovation works are ongoing, as it is possible e.g. to install new service lines and pipes directly on-wall outside the living space.

High-Tech Gründerfonds and Bayern Kapital will jointly invest €600,000 into iso-fast GmbH, based in Zeitlam near Regensburg. Iso-fast’s managing director, Mr. Heinz Barth, met the investors at netzwerk nordbayern’s “Capital meets Innovation” financing forum held in May this year in Nuremberg, Germany. The investors’ commitments were received only three months later. Iso-fast GmbH intends to use this capital to complete several pilot projects, to further develop the system up to the readiness to start production, and to file the necessary patent applications.

Dr. Olmes, investment manager of the lead investor, High-Tech Gründerfonds, says: “The iso-fast method of insulating buildings constitutes another step into the direction of reducing heat energy as the currently largest portion of energy consumption. High-Tech Gründerfonds is proud to be able to make another contribution to solving the global energy problems through iso-fast GmbH.”
