High-Tech Gründerfonds and make a startup angel fund GmbH & Co. KG invest in the Bonayou “Perfectly-Happy-Card”

March 5, 2012

With High-Tech Gründerfonds and make a startup fund GmbH & Co. KG, PL Gutscheinsysteme GmbH gains two investors for their Bonayou “Perfectly-Happy-Card”. Therewith PL Gutscheinsysteme closes the first round of funding for their non-cash gift-voucher card.

In cooperation with MasterCard and Wirecard Bank, the PL Gutscheinsysteme GmbH has developed a customizable money gift with Bonayou which is redeemable anywhere. If it is urgent the contract-free Prepaid MasterCard® issued by Wirecard Bank is acquirable and redeemable digitally for the first time.

Michael Strzyz, responsible Investment Manager at High-Tech Gruenderfonds said: “PL Gutscheinsysteme GmbH has a innovative business model. It allows to redeem the voucher at almost any place, because the voucher is a credit card. Furthermore, it replaces the old-fashioned way of collecting money for a gift, no matter if it is for a relative, friend or a colleague. The launch on social media platforms promises a fast and prosperous market entry.”

The Bonayou gift-voucher card is particularly suitable as a collective gift. People who want to contribute to the gift may be invited not only by email but also through the social media platform Facebook. Thus, other friends of the recipient can participate in the voucher gift. Each participant can upload an image for the greeting card or even use his or her Facebook profile picture. With Bonayou the congratulator is also able to give a little something easily, quickly and individually.

The personalized Prepaid MasterCard® will be send virtually by e-mail or in a high-quality box – selectable in several models – with a personalized greeting card and will be send – optionally with a printed photo- to the wanted address on a self-determined date.

The network Facebook is mostly used by users to be reminded of birthdays. According to a study by Mashable, 39% of Internet users would like to receive money or vouchers as gifts. Based on these results Facebook is the perfect platform to offer Bonayou collective gifts.

The innovative Bonayou concept by PL Gutscheinsysteme GmbH belongs to one of the few social commerce business models that can be monetized and launches simultaneously in several European countries in 2012.
