High-Tech Gründerfonds invests in Autoloader GmbH

September 14, 2011

Autoloader GmbH has successfully completed its seed financing. High-Tech Gründerfonds has invested in the company in cooperation with the senior shareholder, Thomas Breuer / BF Consulting GmbH. The start-up company has developed a robot-based automation system, by means of which baggage handling procedures at airports, which have thus far been carried out manually all over the world, are automated.

With the support of development partners such as BF Maschinen GmbH, Framos GmbH, Sturm Maschinenbau GmbH, NeuPro Solutions GmbH and the IWB at the TU in Munich, Autoloader GmbH has succeeded in building a high-performance prototype. “We are extremely delighted to be able to welcome a prestigious investor such as High-Tech Gründerfonds into our circle of shareholders“, says Florian Gottschaller, founder and CEO of Autoloader GmbH.

The unique selling point of the developed system lies in its ability to automate manual baggage handling processes. This is made possible by means of a substantial innovation in the design of the robotic system – the ability to deal with inaccuracies. The Autoloader System is designed so that in contrast to conventional robotic systems it is able to precisely process and deposit parts, the shapes, conditions and end positions of which are not yet exactly known. This concept presents an innovative approach in robotics and provides a revolutionary advance in automation.

“The team at Autoloader has developed an exciting technology, which can also be applied in other sectors such as packaging plants, for applications in the automobile industry or equipping machine tools in industrial production”, says Curtis MacDonald, Investment Manager of High Tech Gründerfonds. Thanks to the additional financial support, Autoloader GmbH can intensify the development of this technology as well as develop the marketing of its products.

“With Autoloader GmbH we have succeeded in achieving an important milestone for future-oriented solutions in the automation of complex, industrial processes. Our next step will be to apply the advantages of our unique technologies to a variety of different industrial sectors”, says Michael Neumaier, CTO of Autoloader GmbH. First orders from the automobile industry, specific expressions of interest by European airports and a letter of intent from a global industrial group with a total volume of 2.5 million Euros, all show that Autoloader GmbH are right on track with their venture.
